Pendant Lights / April 26, 2018 / Rosie Pacheco.
Pendant style Tiffany lampshades are also quite striking looking but one problem with them is that they are not quite in style as a pendant. Floor lamps and table lamps look more contemporary then the hanging Tiffany lamps, which unfortunately can make your place, look too much like the interior of a chain restaurant.
With pendant light fixtures, achieving all of this is easy. You would have to determine the right height of the bottom of the fixture at every location that you would install the lights. And once you figure that out, you shall have to fit your pendant at the corresponding heights. In this context, it helps to note that if you want the light to spread around, then fixing the light high-up helps. On the other hand, if you want better focus on particular locations such as in the study table example, fit the bottom of the fixture at relatively lesser heights. Finally, make sure that you double-check the colors, size and price. There are enough dealers of pendant light fixtures in the market, so you would not have to be restricted by the availability of such fixtures. Rather, go for reputed dealers with proven track records to avail the best of the deals.
Glass pendants are particularly well suited to a kitchen. Here you can use them over the kitchen island or get mini pendants that are set over the counter tops. These mini pendants work well in a home office too, or over the bed in the master. If you have children, you may want to add pendants over their play area. These will save you a little money on your power bill since your kids can simply turn on the light where they are playing, rather than turning on the main room light, which may use more electricity. If you are putting them in the play area, you may want to go with acrylic lights instead of glass pendant lights. As any parent knows, children can be pretty rambunctious and lights inevitably end up getting in the way of an errant football or flying Barbie. Better to play it safe and get an unbreakable light.
Mention pendant lighting to most people, and right away, they think of the light that hangs suspended from a kitchen ceiling over an island counter top on a coiled wire. The truth though is, that a pendant light is good for most rooms of the house - if you know what kind of pendant light would work well there. A bedroom for the children, perhaps a guest bedroom - wherever space happens to be at a premium, lighting can be a great idea to help you gain a little extra space. The great thing about a pendant lamp is that even as it hangs off the ceiling, it does come in close enough to offer the kind of lighting effect that a bedside lamp would that was parked on your nightstand. Not to mention, pendant lighting can be controlled through a dimmer for lighting effects appropriate to the situation at hand.
