Pendant Lights / April 23, 2018 / Rosie Pacheco.
Why so? To understand this, come out of the box and think outside the decor factor. What do you expect a light to do? You expect it to brighten up the place where it has been installed. If the light has been installed in your patio, you expect it to light up the entire patio, although perhaps not too brightly. If you fix the pendant light in your hall or at your main entrance, you again expect the light to illuminate the entire area with a reasonable brightness.
Mini Pendant Lights - As the tiniest version these can illuminate work spaces and kitchen islands well. They're not thought of as ambient lighting, but can reinvent the feeling within a space more than any other options. They act as a focal point, or a lighting work of art as they are super stylish and can be quite chic. Anyone will find that they command attention and create vigor.
Clear glass pendants will naturally diffuse light more effectively in all direction. This makes them perfect for spaces like the kitchen and bathroom. Metals with shiny finishes, such as polished chrome and brushed nickel, can also help reflect light.Drum shaped pendant lights made of cloth should be put in the living room. This is because the cloth material collects dust easily. Putting them in a living room or common area makes cleaning easy with a quick dusting. Plastic is the most cost effective, but they are prone to discolouration over time. Use plastic in corners and nooks that are not highly trafficked in order to make them last longer. This material makes them perfect for a pendant grouping that serves as an aesthetic home feature.
When deciding where and how to use pendant lighting, first consider the function they should serve. You can use them individually, pair them or use several in a row. A single pendant is great over a small table, such as a dinette or bistro table in the kitchen. For longer areas, you can run multiple pendants while pendants for a kitchen counter can be mounted wherever additional lighting is needed, such as over the sink, a prep area, island or stove. If you're placing pendants above a workspace or table, they should ideally be mounted 30\" to 36\" above the surface. This allows you to get maximum lighting without the pendant fixture getting in the way. If you simply don't have the space to put them up this high, you may want to go with accent, track or recessed lighting options instead.
